FLASH-IT was a European Union dissemination project that provided enhanced access to research findings in Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH).
Part of a broader effort to consolidate knowledge resources within the European Research Area, FLASH-IT successfully bridged the communications gap between Europe’s research and policymaking communities.
Focusing on the Europe 2020 priorities of smart growth, sustainable growth, inclusive growth, FLASH-IT created an online-platform that aggregated results from thematically linked EU-funded SSH research projects. It issued news alerts and summaries of policy-relevant research findings from SSH research projects. And it organised a series of workshops in which policymakers and researchers jointly identified topics for further exploration in the context of Europe’s Horizon 2020 research programme.
SPIA was the Flash-IT partner responsible for analysis and aggregation of SSH research results from FP6 & FP7 projects. As leader of Work Package 2, SPIA was responsible for producing Flash-IT’s synthetic overviews (Policy Snapshots) and monthly news alerts (Policy Research Alerts).
Launched in November 2011, the Flash-IT dissemination project was completed in October 2014.
